Hot Dog Chili Sauce

Here's a great hot dog chili sauce that I tweeked and it makes WONDERFUL hot dogs. Try them with this chili, minced onions, and finely shredded cheddar cheese. Yum! I make this in the crock pot so I can make a big batch to freeze, but you can cook this is a heavy bottomed pot of the stove. Just cook until ground beef is fully cooked.

Try this sauce on chili-cheese fries or tots too!

Hot Dog Chili Sauce

2 pounds ground beef

2 cups cold water

1 Tbsp red pepper flakes (use less if you don't like it very spicy)

2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp onion powder

1 tbs garlic powder

1 tbsp chili powder

1 small can tomato paste

Combine ground beef and water in crock pot. Use your hands to crush the ground beef to a fine grind. Add spices and tomato paste and combine well. Cook on low heat for 4-6 hours. Freezes very well.
